Obituary of Mary Anne Barnish

Mary Anne Barnish (nee Manganiello) passed away Monday evening, September 9, 2024 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. She was 92.

Born and raised in Boston, MA., she had lived in Boonton, NJ before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany-Troy Hills over 60 years ago.

A homemaker, Mrs. Barnish was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was also a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Parish in Parsippany.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Barnish in 2019; as well as her brother, William Manganiello; and her brothers-in-law, Paul Crowley and Robert Mello.

Survivors include her four beloved children, Stephen Barnish and his wife, Jean Marie of Sarasota, FL, Thomas Barnish and his partner, Linda Haft of Farmingdale, NJ, Joanna Sorrentino and her husband, Louis of Lake Hiawatha, NJ and Timothy Barnish and his wife, Jennifer Mak of Bridgewater, NJ; her dear siblings, Frank Manganiello of Massachusetts, Amelia Crowley of Massachusetts, Joanie Mello of Massachusetts, and Rita Mizell of Texas; four grandchildren, Michael Barnish and his wife, Rosanna, Kimberly Peel and her husband, Andrew, Karianne Barnish, and Lily Barnish; and two great-grandchildren, Brody and Cameron. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Hailey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, September 15, 2024, 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 16, 2024, 10:00am at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church , Parsippany. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Boonton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for memorial gifts to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://stjude.org) in Mary Anne's memory.
