Obituary of Arline J. Silverman

Arline J. Silverman passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 2, 2024 at her Lake Hiawatha, NJ home, surrounded by her loving siblings. She was 81.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Arline had come to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany Troy Hills with her family in 1954. She had lived in Manhattan, NY before returning full-time to Lake Hiawatha 30 years ago.

Ms. Silverman had been an administrative assistant to the Head of Yeshiva University in Fort Washington, NY for 25 years before retiring 20 years ago.

Arline was a Scrabble Tournament player, an avid Mahjong player, and an excellent bowler.

Preceded in death by her parents Louis and Eleanor (nee Bernholz) Silverman; she is survived by her loving sister, Barbara Chernov; and her beloved brother, Arthur J. Silverman both of Lake Hiawatha; two dear nieces, Robin Rauchwerk and Lisa Mansour; several grand-nieces and nephews; her cousin, Alan Militscher and his wife, Marilyn and their son, Andrew.

Graveside services were held Friday, April 5, 2024, 1:30pm at B'nai Abraham Memorial Park, Union.
