Obituary of Richard H. Wang
Richard H. Wang passed away Wednesday evening, July 16, 2025 at his Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ home in the presence of his family. He was 93.
Born in Anqing, China, Mr. Wang immigrated to the United States in 1960 settling in Illinois. He had lived in Kansas and Tennessee before coming to Parsippany, NJ in 1999.
He earned his Bachelor's Degree in agricultural sciences from the University of Taipei; his Master's Degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois, and his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Kansas.
Mr. Wang met his wife, Josephine while studying for his Master's at the University of Illinois where she was working at the campus library. After a brief courtship, they were married on August 12, 1962 and spent 58 years together before her passing in September 24, 2020.
An organic chemist, he had worked with the Eastman Kodak Company, which later became Eastman Chemical Co. based in Kingsport, TN for twenty-nine years before his retirement in 1997.
Mr. Wang had actively attended St. Peter the Apostle Church with his late wife, and was also a member of the University of Taipei Alumni Association and the Parsippany Senior Citizens.
In addition to his beloved wife, Josephine S. Wang (nee Sun); he was preceded in death by his brother, Wu-Shien Wang.
Survivors include his three loving children, Joseph Wang and his wife, Yi-Ning Liu of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, Christine Wang of Parsippany, NJ, and Dorothy Wang of San Francisco, CA; and three grandsons, Kenneth, Richard, and Joshua Wang.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th beginning at 9 am. A blessing will be offered at 10 o'clock that morning. Cremation will be private. Richard will be laid to rest with his Josephine at the Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover.
